We are excited to announce the release of v2026.2 of the RPS Command Library.
Alan Sharp described v2026.2 as “the largest and most significant release” of his software development career.
This release represents four months of focused development following the Power Users Conference (PUC) in January, where we received extensive feedback, enhancement requests, workflow ideas, and usability suggestions from customers working in Data Prep, Takeoff, 3D Modeling, and Field Operations.
More than 70 enhancements have been implemented in this release alongside our planned development initiatives, making v2026.2 one of the most significant updates to the platform to date.
Many of the improvements in v2026.2 are designed to strengthen the workflows between commands — helping users move more efficiently from PDF import and cleanup, to modeling and takeoff, to reporting, plotting, field deployment, and deliverable creation.
Major Focus Areas
Smart Takeoff
Smart Takeoff is now fully functional and delivers a complete 3D Earthworks Takeoff workflow, with major enhancements across reporting, overexcavation, strata modeling, subgrade workflows, and performance optimization, including significantly improved integrated spreadsheet reporting, cut/fill mapping, and multithreaded computations.
PDF Manager
PDF Manager continues to evolve as a foundational workflow tool for Data Prep and Takeoff, with major enhancements across image management, extraction workflows, field outputs, and cross-section workflows, including seamless workflows to Trimble Access, Trimble Siteworks, and Google Earth, full support for large-format roll sheets, and automated cross-section layout workflows.
Smart Feature
Smart Feature has received major enhancements across Feature-Based Takeoff, reporting, and drawing workflows, including a complete Cross Section Takeoff workflow with integrated End Area Volume calculations, automated Mass Haul Charts, expanded reporting capabilities, and new feature creation and editing tools.
Smart Plot
Smart Plot has been significantly expanded across sheet layout and deliverable workflows, including new Grid Layout, Alignment Layout, and Profile Layout workflows, along with Matchlines, Key Plans, duplicate sheet set workflows, and expanded template support for producing high-quality drawing deliverables faster than ever before.
Smart Profile
Smart Profile continues to evolve as a powerful workflow tool for Data Prep and Takeoff, with major enhancements across profile-to-3D and 3D-to-profile workflows, including improved utility and corridor alignment workflows, enhanced vertical geometry controls, profile projection workflows, and expanded measurement and drawing capabilities.
Smart Label
v2026.2 introduces the all-new Smart Label command for automated labeling workflows using predefined and user-defined Smart Text libraries. Smart Label includes extensive support for intelligent labeling workflows, with or without leader lines, across Plan, Profile, Sheet, and Station Offset Views, helping to streamline drawing production and deliverable workflows.
